Detail 1 · Process
  1. 1

  2. 2
    Survey
Enter sizes as measured, in inches or feet-inches.
  3. 3
    Order
Confirm. Costing records which vendor rate each line used.
  4. 4
    Plan
Explode into BOM lines and a cut list; nest onto stock bars.
  5. 5
    Shop floor
Print the cutting sheet, cut labels and shop drawing.
  6. 6
    Manufacture
Cut, assemble; offcuts go back into stock with their length.
  7. 7
    Install
Elevation schedule for the site. [Assumption]
Detail 2 · Components
2.1

Design configurator

On the sale order line: pick a series and template, lay out rows and leaves or start from a layout preset, choose finish, thickness, mesh and infill, and enter sizes.

2.2

Vendor rate lists with validity dates

One rate row per profile, thickness, finish and vendor, with a validity chain so a superseded rate closes the day its successor starts. Rates are pasted from the vendor's own price sheet.

2.3

Explosion → cut list → cut plan

A design explodes into BOM lines and a cut list; the cut plan nests pieces onto stock bars with an optimiser checked against hand-proven minima.

2.4

Shop-floor paper

Cutting sheet, cut labels, shop drawing and elevation schedule, printed straight from the order.

2.5

Workshop units

Lengths stored in mm, shown the way the workshop reads them: inches or feet-inches, by one display rule.

2.6

Length-aware stock

Lots know their length and origin, so offcuts go back into stock as real inventory instead of a note on a wall.
